Coconuts - 22 Weeks
The little ones are way more active now. She seems to kick and stretch straight down, like she is getting ready to escape. And he seems to be content up under my ribs and kicking and stretching directly out my side, which you can faintly feel on the outside as well. My son likes to lay his head on my stomach to 'listen' to the boy then looks at me very concerned to ask "Is he kicking you?!", which led to a funny conversation about how I am not being beat up by the tiny human in my belly.
Last night I asked my daughter if she wanted to try to feel them kick and she said "Wait, they're alive in there?!" which made me laugh. You never know how children process and understand what you tell them. She told her daycare provider "My mom is doing something amazing. She is having two babies and giving them to another family!", which led to some funny conversations and clarification with the adults there. Everyone is always amazed and supportive which I love to see.
Everything is moving along smoothly and my energy seems to keep up with me most of the day but I definitely look forward to falling into my bed by the end of the day.
We met with a lovely woman this week who will cleaning the house a couple of times a month which will be a big help because bending over is getting to be more of a challenge and my lungs don't have too much room so I it can be hard to take a deep breath. So far so good!
Weight: 166
Feeling: Full! But great :-)
Babies: Your babies are about 10.9 inches long and weigh in at about 15.2 ounces.
This week, your little ones are working on their senses again, with the senses of sight and hearing getting much more powerful. The babies should be starting to look like miniature newborns. Their lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct. The eyes have formed, but the irises still lack pigment. Fine hair covers their bodies and the deep wrinkles on their skin, which they'll sport until they add a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside their bellies, the pancreas – essential for the production of some important hormones – is developing steadily.
