Honeydew Melons - 35 Weeks

Doctors appointment went well this morning, babies heart rates are 152 (her) and 144 (him). Like usual he was moving around like crazy. When the doctor walked in she congratulated me on making it to 35 weeks and said she was in the office last week when I was sent to the hospital for the steroid shot they were not sure if I would make it this far. I am 4-5 cm dilated and 100 effected, so basically whenever active labor starts it could go pretty quickly.
I am aiming for at least next monday not that we have made it to today. I figured if I made it this far hopefully I can keep them put for another week. The doctor was very straightforward that if my water broke or contractions become close together and stronger to just go straight to the hospital. She asked where I lived and I said about 30-40 minutes from the hospital which didn't impress her, especially when I said I worked about an hour from the hospital. So I am now being even more hyper aware of any pain, pressure or contraction and am trying to limit physical activity as much as my life allows so hopefully it will be easier to tell the difference between "practice" or real contractions, and delay labor as long as possible. As a planner this is killing me. It is fun and exciting being so close but doesn't stop me from wanting a date and time to plan for, oh the fun of being on a babies unpredictable schedule!
I have to admit I have been watching too many youtube videos for my own good and the last one I saw of a woman on her way to the hospital when her water broke and then the baby came out about one minute after made me stop watching and cross my legs.

35 weeks seems to be a golden period where the babies are much more likely not to need any NICU time and will come out nice and healthy any time from here on out.

The results from the Group B Strep cam back normal/negative, which just means no antibiotics during delivery.

Next appointment with Maitri is August 14th for their growth scan.

Update: I am coordinating with my team to allow me to work from home to be closer to the hospital in case things start moving quickly and to allow me to rest more. I plan to come into work for at least another day or two as long as I don't have more pressure or painful contractions and then trying to work from home Thursday and Friday. My job is mainly face to face with patients so I will have to get creative to come up with enough work to do at home, and block my number so my lovely patients don't get a hold of my cell phone number! We will see how this works out :-)

Weight: 180lbs

Feeling: Pretty good for 35 weeks. By the end of the day my legs and hips are pretty sore from the extra weight but I can still find some comfortable positions lying down. I have been feeling some pressure and contractions in the evening which the doctor said is because my uterus, which is a muscle, is tired and not necessarily a sign of active labor coming but still to be aware since I am dilated.

Babies: Your babies are about 18.2 inches long and weigh in at about 5.25 pounds.

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long. Because it's so snug in the womb, they aren't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times they kick should remain about the same. The kidneys are fully developed now, and the liver can process some waste products. Most of their basic physical development is now complete. They'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
